La Ruta del Cares is located in the National Park Picos de Europa. It runs between the towns of Cain and Poncebos , crossing the gorge that follows the river in one of the most spectacular trekking routes that can be done in Europe. It is known as the "Divine Throat " , path, literally carved into the rocks of the mountains is a wonderful journey of a little over 11 miles away from the village of Cain (León ) and Poncebos ( Asturias).

 

 

 

Need to stop doing the Ruta del Cares

1 - Wear adecuate footwear . Preferably boots because the route is quite stony.

 

2 - Bring water because if it's sunny , many miles and no shade until you reach the tunnels and you have to hydrate.

 

3 - Bring some food because depending on the pace you can take some time , especially if the return path is .

 

 

 

Note - . Route Cares originally began in Valdeón but is 10 miles. Although the route is very nice too, and forced to consider other transport options and accommodation at the end the way Cain - Poncebos , for its spectacular and duration , is what makes almost everyone .
